How Guildford Eye Clinic handles your information
This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the limits we put on ourselves. It covers our website, the patient information we hold at the clinic, and the data we receive through our own social media tools.
About us
Guildford Eye Clinic operates inside Specsavers Guildford Town Centre at Unit #2309, 10355 152 Street, Surrey, BC. We are a small independent optometry practice. We are not a software company and we do not sell data of any kind.
Website visitors
Visiting guildfordeyeclinic.ca does not require an account. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. Standard server access logs (IP address, browser, page requested, timestamp) may be kept for a short period to maintain the site and protect against abuse, and are not shared with anyone outside the clinic.
Patient information at the clinic
Patient health information collected during exams is governed by the British Columbia Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). We collect only what is needed for clinical care and billing. We do not share patient information with anyone outside your direct care team without your consent, except as required by law.
Booking
Online booking is provided by Specsavers Canada and is handled on their booking system. When you book online, your information is processed under Specsavers' privacy practices for the booking step, then passes to our clinic for the appointment itself.
Our social media automation
We use Meta's official Graph API to publish our own marketing content to our own Instagram Business account (@guildfordeyeclinic) and our own Facebook Page, and to pull back the performance numbers for those posts. This is a single-clinic, first-party use of Meta's developer tools. Specifically:
- We publish only content we ourselves create.
- We read only the performance metrics for posts our own clinic has published, such as reach, impressions, plays, saves, shares, and average watch time.
- We do not access the personal information of people who follow us, comment on our posts, or interact with our accounts.
- We do not access any data belonging to other businesses or accounts.
- We do not access private messages.
- Performance metrics we pull are stored in private internal files used only by clinic staff to review what content is working. They are not shared with any third party.
Cookies
Our website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Any cookies present are limited to those required for the site to function.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Patient health records are subject to retention rules under BC regulation and we will explain those at the time of any deletion request.
